Spotlight Kid

Spotlight Kid are a Nottingham-based shoegaze band whose original lineup of Six By Seven drummer Chris Davis on drums, Rob McCleary & Katty Heath (formerly of Bent) on vocals, Karl Skivington & Chris Moore on guitars and Matt Holt on bass.

Spotlight Kid's music draws influences from the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, Lush and Swervedriver, with fuzzy distorted guitars, counter balanced perfectly with Katty’s soothing vocals.

Live, Spotlight Kid have supported The Joy Formidable, Esben & The Witch and they also played at Glastonbury festival in 2011.. They use brightly coloured visual projections on stage to great effect that helps create a special goose bump inducing atmosphere and sound which will transport you.

The 286

A seven-piece band from London, The 286 dare to cross the genres of indie rock and classical music. By clashing rock & roll riffs with cellos and violins. The 286 create a unique sound that you expect from a musical collaboration between The Beatles and Beethoven.

Blindness

BLiNDNESS are a band on the cutting edge of the UK live music scene tearing up venues across London and beyond with their blend of explosive, emotive, sonic rock and roll against a backdrop of feedback, emotion and white noise.

Formed in 2008, Blindness are a 4 piece from London Beth Rettig (vocals) Kendra Frost (bass, noise), Debbie Smith (guitar) and Alex Lutes (drums). Originally a three-piece they recruited Lutes to “fill out” an already intense set of pre-recorded loops and noise as well as live bass and guitar courtesy of Frost and Smith, the latter being guitarist for 90’s bands Curve and Echobelly and, later, Snowpony.Taking sonic tips from The Jesus and Mary Chain as well as My Bloody Valentine and with the hook sensibility of PJ Harvey, Blindness show "exquisite warmth" in their "seductive dark wave electro pop."

"Definitely a band to look out for… Dark, Raw, energetic, very very loud and intense with powerful and compelling vocals"

The Inevitable Daydream

Writing catchy indie tunes is one thing, but the Inevitable Daydream want to change the way people think about life into something more altogether transcendent. From ear shattering Shoegaze, to bruising, stooges inspired punk to cooled Beatles catchy popiness, they want to bring back the sounds from 80's/90's Alternative like Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized and fuse it with the modern likes of Tame Impala and Yuck, also taking guitar influence from the likes of Television and My Bloody Valentine. They are the Daydream. Let the revolution fucking begin.

Eames

Eames (AKA Angus Wilson) takes over the decks this month. You can normally find him playing his eclectic mix of dance and indie tunes at the Tram and Social in London and on his weekly show on Juice FM. Its pretty much impossible not to dance to his varied choice of tunes that you can listen to on the Soundcloud link below
