Letters To Fiesta were one of the very first bands that we featured on FSS. This was back in June 2011, when we included their extrremley catchy song "Drag The Fire". This immediately catapulted them into one of our favourite bands and we have been keeping a patient and watchful eye ever since. They teased us with posts about writing songs, then recording them and then eventually we receive a plethora of material. We featured one of these tracks "Tears Apart" in the October 2012 playlist, which we believe will be the nest single.
Letters To Fiesta return in 2013 with a new line up and electronic direction in the shape of new single, Mesosphere.
Making their first appearance for over a year, the Manchester based outfit performed a set of their new material at The Castle Hotel, Oldham Street, Manchester on March 9th.
So what can you expect to hear listening to Letters To Fiesta. Its not easy to compare them to anyone else, as they have their own fresh and unique sound. They may take influences from the likes of Kate Bush and Broken Social Scene, but they still maintain their own identity. Vocalist Anna Louisa Etherington's voice lifts to domineering euphoric peaks and then glides high through the verses in a more Katherine Blake (Miranda Sex Garden) manner.
I was going to write that it sounds like Letters To Fiesta have grown up slightly since their early material, but thats the last thing we want them to do. Their music sounds so youthful, free and without any cares in the world, which makes you want to dance on your own listening to it. Lets say their sound has matured into something that more detailed, well crafted and intricate.
